My son, Matthew, loves this toy! He first liked it when we had it mounted in the crib so he could watch it as I wash out his diaper (we use BumGenius) after diaper changes. Then, he figured out quickly how to turn it on and off using the big handle switch. We finally took it out of his crib at 5 or 6 months and mounted it on the little base it comes with. Now, Matthew really loves to play with this thing! He will turn it on and off, on and off over and over again. He loves the little clear balls with the spinning pictures inside. He'll mouth them and put them in the spinning disk part, then take them out again. He also likes to play with the spinning ball mounted on the outside of the base. The music is not annoying, and if you do get tired of it, it has 4 discs to change out. He's spit up all over it once, and we cleaned it out, and it keeps working. The only thing is that since the discs have stickers on them, they can get drool damage around the edges. Matthew drooled a lot once, and especially on the ball which he put in the spinning disc part, and so one of the discs is permanently a little damaged on the edge from the sticker. He sometimes manages to stop the spinning disc, but it doesn't seem to affect it in any way. During tummy time, before he could sit up, he could entertain himself for quite a while propped up on the Boppy cushion and turning this thing on and off, on and off. I really like this shoe. It's just wide enough and deep enough for my daughter's foot. They could be a little roomier, but we're pushing the size a bit, too. She doesn't have the chubbiest baby foot that I've seen so I might not chance it for a really chubby foot. The curved form of the shoe really makes walking in this shoe vs. a shoe with a flat sole much steadier. She nearly glides with these on and she can run without tripping and falling which doesn't happen in her other non-Umi shoes. The velcro has good integrity. The padded back is comfortable. Nothing pinches or pokes. The combination of rubber nubs and leather on the sole made me question buying these but it works out just fine. The leather has worn a little but not much in proportion to how much my daughter has worn these... plus the wear is on the bottom where it doesn't show and doesn't impact the shoe's performance or durability in any functional way. My only major wish is that they came in another size larger. I got the biggest size available and my daughter is pushing the size limit at 18 months old. I'll probably keep putting them on her until they seem uncomfortable but that'll be in the next few months I'm sure.

I'd like to have this curved sole type shoe until she's 2 at least. I have been wearing MBTs strictly since May of 09 and they have the same "rocker bottom" sole. I'm amazed at what wearing the MBTs has done for my posture and core strength and overall balance to say nothing of taking a lot of pressure off of my knees and hips. I'd like to find more kid's shoes that have this curved "rocker bottom" sole. It seems to make so much sense developmentally.

This is a decent organic option and a good value for the price, especially for those of us who strive to live green and organically, but do not have exorbitant budgets on which to make it a reality in our homes!

As some reviewers state, this pad is not 100% organic through and through and, indeed, there is some questionable marketing going on with this product. And while, as these negative reviewers state, there are other totally organic mattress pads available on line (which I would love to have if I could afford them), again, the reality of buying on line and paying all those shipping charges gets to be pretty expensive, especially when combined with the costs of organic food, organic baby products, cloth diapering, etc. So from the perspective where cost meets availability meets safety... here is my take on it:

I live in NE Ohio where our local organic options are limited and buying everything on line adds up to big bucks and lots of shipping charges. The Priva mattress pad is readily available at the big name baby/children's store for about 1/4 the price of the totally organic pads available on line. And the part of the pad that my child comes in direct contact with is 100% organic. I can live with this!

It is a very comfy mattress pad - quilted, soft, breathable, thick and squishy. My son, in particular, has always sweated a lot during the summer months on other mattress pads and "waterproof" barrier sheets (even the ones that were 100% cotton flannel topped and/or supposed to be breathable). But I have noticed enormous improvement since he started sleeping on this mattress pad... there has been no more sweating or waking up wringing wet.

Some reviewers also complain of this pad shrinking or it being too tight to put on their mattress. I have purchased four of these so far over the past four years - two in the portacrib size and two in the full crib/toddler bed size - and have had no problems with them shrinking excessively or not fitting our mattresses. Wash in cold water. Line dry. You'll be fine.

No it is not truly 100% organic. But for the price and convenience of local availability, combined with a reasonable amount of organic safety, in my opinion, you can't beat this Priva mattress pad!

It is nice looking and if it was usable probably would be good value too.

Both sheet and bumber were too small for my crib although it is standard and any other bedding set fit on it. I did launder it first but I used cold water and a gentle cycle, so I don't think it simply shrunk.

What made me return it were the bumper ties. 3 of them simply pulled straight off the bumper when I tried to tie it to the crib. Can't use it after that happens and can't have these ties loose around my baby.

I also felt the bumper was too thin to effectively avoid my daughter for hurting herself.

My advise is to purchase a higher quality, and usually higher priced, bedding set.
