I think this is the perfect solution to convert a convertible crib into a toddler bed and still feel that your child will be safe. It wasn't hard to stain it to match the crib when we got it, and I am happy that it came unfinished because if it came in a color that didn't exactly match my son's crib I think it would bother me every time I saw it.
