I was concerned that she would bump her head on the bars of the crib so I didn't want to put her in there with nothing. I saw this at a store and thought "What a great idea!" After finding it at the consignment store, washing it and putting it in her crib I noticed a few things I wasn't too keen about.

When you 'install' it you have to pull really, really hard to make sure there is no slack in the bumper. It's tighter and seems safe but it isn't as tight as I would like it to be. Another thing is that the corners are a little exposed because this comes in two pieces. One part is for the front of the crib and the other section is for the other three sides. Every corner is still covered but I like the way other bumpers are able to cover all sections and still allow the usage of its drop side.

Overall I would suggest it. When my daughter begins to pull herself up she won't be able to use this as an aide to escape like she would a regular bumper. *Somewhat noisy drop-side
*Somewhat flimsy drawer (but I don't think as bad as others have said)
*Changing the mattress height isn't too difficult, but the wooden bars of the crib get in the way just a bit when trying to screw/unscrew to change the height.

I spent a lot of time doing research and comparisons when I purchased this crib. I'm still happy with my choice, as the cons listed are quite minor. The biggest annoyance is probably the noisy drop-side, but I don't think I've ever come across a silent drop-side.

My favorite thing about this crib is definitely the beauty of the design. It truly looks like a well crafted piece of furniture. I've seen similar cribs with much higher price tags. Most importantly - I feel safe with this crib. My son, now almost a year old, has been getting good use of it - he even safely pulls himself up and stands in it without risk of tumbling out and over the top (of course, then he cries for me to come get him, but that's not the crib's fault). Like the video on the Baby Bjorn website shows, this travel crib really is "that easy" to set up. I had it set up in about 25 seconds, and it took maybe 90 seconds to fold back up for storage. It is lightweight (only 11 lbs) and comes with its own sleek black travel case.

Clueless, when I was pregnant I registered for a Graco Pack N Play as I thought that was all that existed. I thought I would need this right away for my baby! (I'm a first-time mom).

My mother purchased the pack n play as a shower gift for me and had it set up at my baby shower. She scared me when she said she struggled to get it set up and didn't add all the proper pieces to it. When we got it home, I bugged my husband to set it up for me as there were so many parts and pieces and things to assemble in a specific order that I didn't want to deal with it. When he finally set it up for me, I was relieved that it was ready to use when we came home from the hospital. He also said it was a "PITA."

After my baby was born, we tried to use the bassinet feature on the pack n play but our baby hated it and screamed at the top of her lungs. It felt very uncomfortable to the touch so after a few times, I stopped even trying to use the bassinet feature. I wouldn't want to lay in there either if I was her! Since babies don't crawl for several months, "penning" them up in a playpen doesn't become necessary for awhile after baby is born. So our playpen sat unused in our bedroom for three months before I finally decided it needed to be "packed up" and put away.

So.. Back to bugging my husband to disassemble the Graco Pack N Play.. and bugging him and bugging him. He never ended up doing it, which told me he knew it was too much of a PITA to want to deal with it. After several weeks of him ignoring it, and me ignoring it because like him I didn't want to deal with it either, I ended up disassembling it myself and struggling to put it away properly, I never did get it right. Then my husband wanted to go away for a weekend, and I declined going anywhere because I Dreaded the assembly and disassembly of the darn pack n play! That's when I realized the Graco Pack n Play was not the right choice for our family. All we wanted to do was avoid it.

By chance I came across the Baby Bjorn travel crib and researched all the reviews. I ordered it online without seeing it in person, and I couldn't be happier with the super light weight, the EASE of use and how swiftly and easily it just pops open. I will be keeping this travel crib for years (it's good for kids up to 3 years - the Graco only goes up to 12 months) and selling the other heavy behemoth online.

Item is very heavy in the box. Being 7 months pregnant when it arrived, (it was left on the porch when I wasn't at home), I was not able to lift or drag it over the threshold and into the house. Because the front and back crib panels are a few inches off the ground, you will need two people to put this together. It took my husband and I about 2 hours, mainly because we were trying very hard not to scratch anything, but a couple of the directions were a little off. It really wasn't hard to put together, though. The worst part is the safety stickers all over one of the brown panels - we still haven't gotten those off. Be sure to take them off before you start assembling - it will be easier on you that way. Also, the instructions say not to use a power screwdriver, but we did, carefully & on the lowest setting, and that saved a ton of time and did not split or damage anything.

The wood is a little soft. I imagine it will scratch and ding very easily. All four panels have marks you can see where each vertical rail was nailed to the top piece - the directions try to help you position those pieces so you won't see the marks. They are tiny enough, and they were painted over, so they didn't bother me. The drawer pieces are very flimsy, other than the front. Besides that, the crib seems very sturdy once assembled.

I liked that it came with a toddler rail and has multiple positions for the mattress. The best part is the style. It is just very difficult to find modern baby furniture, and when you do, it's very expensive. We bought this with the Baby Italia Scandi dresser, and they look great together.

If you have modern sensibilities, you won't want to buy a crib skirt - sorry - you are going to have to with this crib, or you will see a gaping hole and everything in the bottom drawer. Find a straight skirt or one with a single pleat instead of ruffles; it won't detract from the minimalist look of this lovely crib. This is a great crib for the price. It arrived quickly and I was able to assemble it by myself in a couple hours while 7 months pregnant. I didn't have any trouble with broken or damaged parts like some of the other reviewers did, even though the box looked pretty beat up when it arrived. The bottom of the trundle drawer is a little flimsy, but works fine for me since I only intend to store clothes in it. I wouldn't recommend using it to store anything heavy, though. The crib comes with rails to convert it into a toddler bed and it can also be converted to a full size bed later if you purchase a bed frame. Keep in mind that it doesn't have a drop side, if that's something you're looking for. Overall I'm very happy with this crib. Obviously the materials aren't going to be as high quality as a $400 or $500 crib, but it's sturdy and doesn't look cheap.
